Tournament Hockey

Tournament hockey is different. More games, tighter schedules, faster pace, less margin for error. You played really well this weekend, Regan. Strong skating, smart decisions, good effort shift after shift. That kind of play doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from preparation, instincts, and competing the right way. Just wanted to say: well done. Keep enjoying the game.

Making Space

Great players make space— a shoulder fake, a sharp angle, a quick burst. You’ve always understood space well, Regan, on the ice and the field. Life works that way too.

If This Was the Ride Home

If this were one of our old rides home from practice, Regan, I’d probably say something simple like: “Good effort tonight. Smart plays.” Then we’d talk about sticks, boots, or what to eat. Those were easy, real moments.

The Ice Before the Game

There’s something about quiet arenas before warm-up, Regan. Fresh sheet of ice, no noise, just possibility. I’ve always liked the reminder that every day is a clean start. Just leaving that thought here for you.

Stick Flex Wisdom

Choosing a stick is basically philosophy: flex, curve, kick point — all matching how you play, Regan. Funny thing is, life works the same way. Find the gear that fits you, not what other people think you should use.
There’s an art to the perfect pass: Seeing something others don’t, and making the play even if you don’t get the spotlight. Regan, you’ve always had that vision. It’s one of the things I admire most about how you play.

The Quiet Leader

There’s a thing coaches love that doesn’t show up on highlight reels: the player who keeps his cool when everyone else is losing theirs. Every team has that one guy. You’ve always had that calm, steady way about you. That’s a strength most people don’t develop until they’re adults. Just wanted to say: keep that. It’ll take you far. Love Dad, Jeff Cormier
